Support — amalog

Last updated: 22 August 2026

amalog is a Muslim planner app. If something is wrong, or something is missing, write to [email protected] — one person reads that address, in English or Thai, and answers within a few days.

Reporting a problem

Four lines make almost any report answerable:

Nothing you send is needed to reproduce most problems, so please do not send your planner or anything else private with it — if it turns out to matter, we will ask.

Common questions

The prayer times look wrong

Times are computed on your device from your location and the calculation method, so a difference of a few minutes from your local mosque usually means a different method. Both settings are in Profile: the calculation method, the madhab (which moves Asr), and a manual Hijri offset for the date.

If the times are hours out rather than minutes, the app is using the wrong position: it needs the location permission, and without it falls back to the last coordinates it had — Bangkok, on a fresh install. Allow location once and the times settle.

Notifications are not arriving

Prayer reminders are set from the bell on the Home screen. They also need notification permission from the system — iOS asks once, and if it was declined the app cannot ask again, so it has to be turned on in Settings → Notifications → amalog. Reminders are queued about a week ahead, so open the app at least that often.

The qibla needle drifts or spins

That is the compass in the phone, not the direction: move away from metal, laptops and magnetic cases, and wave the phone in a figure of eight to recalibrate it.

Do I need an account?

No. The planner, the Quran, the prayer times and the directories all work with no account and no network — that is the default. An account exists for one reason, which is to carry your planner to a second device, and signing in and uploading are two separate choices.

How do I delete my account?

Profile → Settings → Account → Delete my account. It deletes the account, its sign-in methods, every device session and the synced planner. The copy on your own device stays until you delete the app.

Where is my data if I never sign in?

On your phone, and nowhere else. That also means deleting the app deletes it, and there is no copy for us to restore — if you are about to reinstall, sign in first so the planner has somewhere to come back from.

Can I use it in my language?

The app is in English, Thai, Malay, Indonesian and Arabic. Change it in Profile → Language, or with the language pill on the Home screen.

Privacy

What the app does and does not collect is written out at amalogmuslim.com/privacy.html. The short version: it stays on your device unless you switch something on.
